Atma linga puja

Adi Moola Ganapathi uvaacha: Atma linga puja which is a natural and gradual consequence of dhyāna or meditation and thapas or tapasya or penance is considered to be an important step in the dissolution of the “body” or Vyakta or Manifest state of the self-luminous akshara or alphabet and Avyakta or Unmanifest of the self-luminous akshara or alphabet leading to immersion and absorption into its origin namely Aksharam or Imperishable or Supreme Self or Avyakta beeja or seed.

Dissolution or laya as it is mentioned in the scriptures refers to splitting the “body” or Vyakta or Manifest state of the self-luminous akshara or alphabet and Avyakta or Unmanifest of the self-luminous akshara or alphabet into its indistinguishable indivisible subtlest atom that is known as AUM or SATCHITANAND – Primordial Light or Primordial Sound or Sabda Brahman or Consciousness or Chaitanya. It can be described as the brilliance of a million Suns or Koti Surya Samaprabha or Koti Surya Prakasha or Sat, with the experiential Bliss known as Ananda and the realization of Consciousness or Chaitanya or Chit.

This is the procedure advocated by all the Rishis, Sages, Seers, Devathas and celestial beings as it leads eventually to immersion and absorption into the Supreme Self. The reason that it is advocated by the Rishis, Sages, Seers, Devathas and celestial beings is because it leads to the true state of Bala or child which is Aksharam or Imperishable or Supreme Self or Avyakta beeja or seed.

Hence, Atma linga puja is to be done by adhering to the instructions and guidance bestowed by the Self or self-luminous akshara or alphabet through “intuition” or prātibha and practise the same by offering salutations to one’s lineage, Great Gurus, Rishis, Devathas, myriad forms of the Supreme Self, infinite creation and creation differentials, self-luminous aksharas or alphabets and the Self or self-luminous akshara or alphabet and offering thanks to the Supreme Self and most importantly through Self-Surrender.
